    Pros +

    • Location was easy to find espIf u are driving
    • We were only here for one night, so we didn't experience a lot, but the location was convenient for our road trip to Nachi Falls from Kyoto area. It was cool to see the little resort area around the hotel.
    • Our room with a view of the harbor was awesome! Nice entry way, large seating/sofa area with TV was great. The beds were comfortable and enough away from the seating area that made it very pleasant. The large bathroom was just as awesome. It was very neat and clean. Staff members were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, but the assortment of umeboshi made it great. We weren’t planning to go to the amusement park, but it was very kind of the hotel to let us know it would be closed on the day of our visit.

    Cons -

    • The onsen was FOC but it was 2 buildings away from hotel. Too cold to walk there by foot. Visited once by car and was charged 750yen for carpark fee for less than an hour visit. Onsen was alright but i suggest to go there on foot, not car.
    • The hotel was very dated and I did see what looked like a bit of wet mold in the shower and carpets in the hallway. The room was otherwise clean, but the bed was uncomfortable and I expected a bit more for what was one of the most expensive hotels on our 3 week trip.
    • Although it’s a nice feature, the onsen was too far away for us to enjoy, since we would be walking back to the hotel in the cold weather.

I loved the breakfast and the staff were lovely and helpful. It overlooked the harbour which was lovely.

It was a tad for from any shops but as i only stayed a couple of days it was fine.

It is located in a picturesque location. The staff is willing to provide the best service. The restaurants serve gourmet food with top-notch services. There are fun facilities and activities nearby. The price is very reasonable.

Accessibility is somewhat worse, but we were able to reach both destinations to and from on time. The gift shop is scarce in selection.

Wonderful view, the staffs are very nice, clean

Different types of Onsens are available. Hotel is very big.

Futon mattress are not thick enough, quite uncomfortable to sleep on it. Dinner and breakfast are quite expensive.

We had an amazing meal at the in-house italian restaurant. Our room had an amazing bathroom.

The location was very isolated. Had assumed it was in the middle of a holiday type resort but it did not feel like it was. There were limited restaurant options in the area (but we had a great meal at the in-house restaurant). It also felt very dated and could do with a spruce up.

Good location. Good view. People at the reception are kind and helpful.

Room is not as big as I imagined.

Breakfast was very good, catering more for Japanese taste. The set up was nice. You can see beautiful sunset. We liked the lawn and the outdoor setting for breakfast. Wakayama castle is worth a visit, but if you come from from Europe Marina City is nothing you need to visit unless you have small children who would like to go to an amusement park.

The room service was quite disappointing. My son would have done a better to make the bed rather than the staff. We asked them not to change the towels (there is a sign for it to hang on the door) but they didn’t get it apparently. If you stay there dinner options are limited to the hotel if you don’t drive. The onsen is quite a walk away and open to the public. So check the event calendar before you go, it might be very crowded.

Very good sized room with a lovely balcony and sea view

The rooms need updating as they were a bit dated

    8JoannePosted on: 9-23-2024

The view was great. Hotel looks classy

Worn. Needs a bit of tender loving

    8HuiPosted on: 4-26-2024

Modern and clean. Good sea view. Complimentary onsen facility next to Kushiro market, about 10 minutes walk from hotel.

Hotel very strict about check in time. We could see them taking our luggage to our rooms but they still will not let us check in until punctually at 3.00 pm. At exactly 3.00 pm, the staff went round to announce to everyone at the lobby that we could go to our rooms. So strange.

Close to Kuroshio fish market Very good bakery in the hotelThe view on the port

A little bit far from town, there is no restauranr nearby in the evening except the ones in the hotel

This hotel has incredible views over the ocean. The room is also quite large with a bath overlooking the marina and a balcony to enjoy sunsets or a morning coffee. The location is great, within walking distance to the fish market, small European amusement park and onsen complex.

    9SheyPosted on: 12-29-2023

The hotel is in a great location with stunning sunset views over the marina. We visited the fish market beside the hotel and enjoyed a fresh seafood bbq beside the ocean and the tuna filleting show was fun to watch.

    8JinPosted on: 12-21-2023

Near to Porto and fish market.

Hotel furniture is in the 80s design but well maintained.

    8AlbertverPosted on: 11-17-2023

The view of the marina from our window was beautiful. The hotel was walkable to the attractions we wanted to see.

We booked two rooms for 4 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 7. There were twin beds in both rooms and one had a cot in it but there was no bed for the 4 year old. It was expected that the child would sleep with the parent in a twin bed. This made for an uncomfortable stay. It was disappointing that the pool was closed.

Everything is great. It's clean and fantastic scenery. Moreover, the staff provides very good service. I forgot i-pad in the room. Unfortunately, I realized it when I was in Osaka, so I ask the staff to send my ipad to my hotel in Osaka. The staff do not hesitate to help, and I finally get my i-pad back.

    9SheyPosted on: 10-14-2023

The beautiful views overlooking the Marina at sunset were superb. The bathtub with the same view makes a relaxing experience.
